From the corner of my eyes, I watched as Jeff and Kira walk away, chuckling at something one of them said. Unlike the others where would meet the victim in his home or hotel, this one was going to take place in a party so we need to be extra careful Commander Snake gave a list of instructions and things we should watch out for and once he was done, dismissed us. (Few days later)Vera.Standing beside Commander Snake, I tried to pay attention to what he was saying as I kept getting distracted. I do." I whispered." More the reason he should be dead." I pursed my lips, looking at everywhere but him. " What if he didn't rat out on us? Won't we be taking an inncoents life?" Jeff looked at me then. The ache in my heart gets worse." What if." I began, stopping myself. Vera." Are you really going to kill him?" I asked Jeff moments later Commander Snake had left the room." If Commander Snake says we should do it, then we do it." He replies, not looking at me. I came for another reason." She replied, her voice still painfully calm. I scoffed, still not being able to wrap my head around it." You're not dead?" " No."" How can it be!? How's it possible? I thought you were dead!" I muttered." Well, I'm not." " If you're not dead, why didn't you show yourself years ago!!" I yelled, unable to keep still anymore." Now's not the time to explain. " Am I really speaking to you?" I asked again. I took a step forward." Is this really you?" I asked, disbelief still evident in my voice. She pulled her hoodie off, taking in a deep breath." Didn't think we'd meet this way." She muttered rather dryly, her lips twitching. Isn't Vera dead? The figure stared at me, moving closer. Surely, my mind must be playing tricks on me, because this looks too real to be true. Ray.I stared at the figure before me, too shocked to speak. Giving him a choice, to hate or love her. You would hate me." She growled, staring deep into his eyes. " But I love you! I freaking do! Why can't you understand and let me stay?" He yelled, shaking her, tears forming in his eyes at the one girl he loved but keeps pushing him away.
He never thought she knew what it felt like to smile. And you trying is going to hurt the both of us! Even more than we can ever imagine." She spat, tears clouding in her eyes again. " Why do you keep pushing me away?! I want to help you, why won't you let me?" " I don't want you to come see me tomorrow or the day after that! I need you to leave me alone! Stop trying to help me Ray, we both know it's not going to work. " I understand if you're angry, I can always come see you tomorrow." She cut him off. " Every time is a bad time Ray, don't you understand that?" Moving towards him, she muttered through gritted teeth. With a crooked sigh, she finally turned to face him, revealing a tear streaked face. She was a ghost to everyone but not to him and she wondered why. She has refused to face him since he entered the room, treating him as if he were a ghost. " Why are you here?" She asked, staring out the window.
